Comments:

TK: This album was originally released as volume II in Europe and Japan. Check here for the differing track listings.

RC: More outtakes from the P.Funk vaults. "May Day" is a song originally meant for Electric Spanking, a fine Funkadelic dance track. "Funkin' For..." is an odd track that combines old school rap with dance-funk, complete with hand-clap percussion. "Plush Funk" is a Donnie Sterling led Sterling Silver Starship cut that has an amusing spoken opening and a moderately engaging groove. "I Envy The Sunshine" is a better than average Jessica Cleaves tune, thanks mostly to the horns and Boogie Mosson's bass playing. "Lickety Split" is an excellent Horny Horns tune that also appears on The Final Blow. With Bootsy on bass and funky clavinets and Rhodes driving the song, it becomes a fine instrumental. "Common Law Wife" is perhaps the best song on the album. Combining members of the JB's and Funkadelic, the result is a dirty, funky track for an artist named Flo. "Super Spirit" is an odd Junie track that muses about god. His bass playing is especially sharp here. "Love Don't Come Easy" is an overproduced Brides tune, done in by strings. "I Can't Stand It" is a TreyLewd tune that sounds more like a Funkadelic dance number than one of his own, weird tunes. Still, it is appropriately chaotic sounding. "Monster Dance" is a standard Ron Ford dance funker. "We're Just Funkers" is a Michael Hampton guitar solo with some basic accompaniment; it's a good workout. The interview features George talking about meeting Michael Hampton and his development as a guitar player, freaking out Jessica Cleaves, writing and arranging "Knee Deep" with Junie Morrison, and working with Fred Wesley, Donnie Sterling, and Trey Lewd.
