Comments:

RC: This volume of the Family Series features some of the very best and very worst songs. The absolute winner starts off the album, "Live Up". A cover of a song that Clinton produced ten years earlier for the Fantastic Four, it features the vocal greatness of Glen Goins. Recorded at around the time of Mothership Connection, it could easily fit on there. The lead vocals, bass playing, horns and vocal hooks are all impeccable. "Secrets" is a Sidney Barnes song that sounds a bit hollow, and the singing is marginal. "She Never Do's Things" is another excellent TreyLewd song, featuring the twisted vocals of Tracey Lewis. "Take My Love" is a disco-ish Brides song, surprising because of its great musical lineup. "Just For Play" is another Brides-led song that is slightly more interesting musically. "Off The Wall" is a Junie-written Jessica Cleaves song that shows what she can do when put against a funky background. "Get It On" is a spirited Jimmy G funker, again with excellent bass playing. "Triune" is another bizarre Junie spiritual exploration with a quirky but engaging keyboard line. "Superstar Madness" dips into percussionist Maruga Booker's New Wave world, a fluffy soulless tune about vegetables. "I Angle" is another superb Electric Spanking outtake, a sci-fi/Bermuda Triangle song that features Eddie Hazel going wild and fuzz bass from Ron Ford. "Twenty Bucks" is a funky Brides tune with a catchy guitar riff and strings used to good effect. "To Care" is a Four Tops song that Ron Dunbar produced, which is mostly disco-ish. "Coming Down..." is another bit of filler, a Garry Shider production that sounds like a standard rock ballad. The singer sounds not unlike David Bowie! The interview has George talking about Sidney Barnes, Glen Goins, the Brides, Jessica Cleaves, Junie, and the Four Tops.
